"In September 2008 I asked Harcourts, Agnes Water to handle the sale of my property in Captain Creek. My wife and I both knew we had a unique property in the area and were seeking a real estate agency that shared our passion for our property. At Harcourts we found that passion and enthusiasm.
Our first meeting with the agent we requested to handle the sale was refreshingly comprehensive. Sara spent at least a couple of hours with us walking the property and going through all the features of the property and provided us with the opportunity to communicate our concerns and expectations of the sale procedure. Both Sara and Gordon provided realistic and straight advice about our sale strategy.
We agreed to proceed with a 4 week marketing campaign followed by an auction. Within the week we were pleasantly surprised when the entire Harcourts team turned up at our home to familiarise themselves with the property, all of a sudden we had five agents on the job.
Over the marketing period the team generated several genuine interested buyers and showed the property to at least 20 buyers. The interest generated was very encouraging.
As auction day approached I was contacted by the auctioneer and prepared and educated for the weekend. It was great to know in advance of what to expect and how it all worked.
At auction day the whole Harcourts team was there, it was a real buzz. We had a good number of interested real bidders there. The auction began, people in the room, agents on the phone, the auctioneer showing the property on the projector, and away he went. The price got up around what we already knew some were prepared to pay, and then some phone bidders kicked in pushing the price up towards our reserve.
We sold our property that day. We could have held out for the maybe buyers who needed conditions in the contract. We chose to take the cash money on unconditional terms. The auction process proved what the market was prepared to pay; it was quick, direct and no fuss. Everybody was involved, focused and on a mission to sell our property.
